The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Water Research Commission (WRC) of South Africa requests applications from local innovators developing technologies/solutions addressing South Africa’s water challenges, particularly those which have been exacerbated or introduced during the COVID 19 pandemic. The UNDP and WRC aim to fast track the development and promote the adoption of promising innovations in the water sector through this programme. The objective is to accelerate the rate at which we achieve progress on SDG 6, and address South Africa’s pressing water needs.
This call is specifically for innovative solutions and not conventional and established technologies: UNDP_WRC Call for Water Innovations
To apply, please complete the Expression of Interest (EOI) form: Water Accelerator EOI Template
Applications must include in a separate word document, a brief motivation on why they should be considered for the programme, contact information, and evidence supporting the selection criteria highlighted in this call (maximum 2 pages/1000 words).

The Water Research Commission (WRC), Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) funded innovation platforms, namely the Water Technologies Demonstration Programme (WADER) and South African Sanitation Technology Enterprise Programme (SASTEP) provide funds for the demonstration of various technologies that are appropriate for the water and sanitation sector.
The purpose of the field-testing and demonstration is to evaluate and validate the functionality, performance, and user acceptance of the innovation. To ensure the accuracy and veracity of the outcome, independent technology evaluators are required to assess these criteria during the field-testing and demonstration period. The evaluation/validation reports are usually not published but shared with the innovators so that they can improve their product or service and only shared with the test site partner or other public sector partners if requested and in confidentiality: EXPRESSION OF INTEREST_TECH EVALUATORS_final
To apply, please complete the attached Water and Sanitation Technology evaluation Form: Water and Sanitation Technology Evaluator form_FINAL
All application must be submitted electronically before COB August 31, 2020 to Mrs. Sarah Ravhudzulo, firstname.lastname@example.org
